  1. Yay! You are getting an interactive white board! I would be lost in the classroom without mine. I think you are going to discover so much is out there to use. I also believe the same to be true with I-Pad apps for Kindergarten. I do not know much in this area as my school has just purchased 8 but we have not used them in the classroom yet. The possibilities are endless. I have many game templates for the Smart Board if you are ever in need. Just let me know!

  2. I enjoyed listening to your goals as an educator. I especially liked your goal to learn more about the iPad. That's one thing I have not learned much about yet either. I do not have a personal one like you but that would probably be the best way for me to learn. I am hearing that my school district may be getting them for each of our students some time in the next few years so I guess now would be a good time for me to learn. I agree that there needs to be some way to monitor the use of applications. It would be nice to know which ones are appropriate for children in school. Best of luck!

  3. Nancy,

Nice presentation! Good luck with your classroom website. Finding ipad apps that are worthwhile can be tricky. One app I found that you might enjoy is a sight word app. Students can say the word, then tap the word to hear it pronounced, and use their finger to spell the word. I like it because they can check themselves and practice spelling all on their own. It is called "Kids Learn Sight Words." You can get 25 for free, which might be perfect for Kindergarten. Another you might like it called Sentence Magic. Have fun!
